I relocated to Bella Vista from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia in the summer of 2007 after I accepted the position of managing editor of The Weekly Vista newspaper. I held that position until my retirement in 2011.
It took me a while to realize that a sedentary lifestyle wasn’t for me, and in the spring of 2014. I enrolled in and graduated from Real Estate school and became a Realtor®. I really enjoy the interaction I have with my clients, especially when as buyers they realize they have found the “perfect” house. And it is truly satisfying when I help a family in the sale of their home.
I love living in Northwest Arkansas and cannot see myself residing anywhere else. I do not have any children, but am the proud parent of two dogs and two cats, all of them adopted. I enjoy the occasional round of golf and some very relaxing fishing, especially battling the small-mouth bass in Sugar Creek.
I am member of the First United Methodist Church of Bella Vista, where I have served as an officer in the Methodist Men and as a member of a number of church committees. Other volunteer activities include my serving as president of the Bella Vista Kiwanis club; commander of the Bella Vista American Legion Post 341; president of the Veterans’ Council of Northwest Arkansas, the group that oversees the care and maintenance of the Veterans’ Wall of Honor Memorial; a member of the Village House board of directors; and as a member of the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County advisory board.
From the spring of 1970, until my honorable discharge 8 years later, I served in the United States Air Force as an air traffic controller. The first five years of my enlistment were during the latter years of the Vietnam War. And while I did not go to Vietnam, I was stationed in Thailand from the Fall of 1974 through late Spring 1975.
I am excited to be a part of Neighbors Real Estate Group and look forward to working with clients, new and old, in the sale and/or purchase of their home.
